Discover Lifestyle Flexibility with our semi-absentee / manager-run business model. Our most successful owners are not onsite every day but meet with their managers weekly to help set goals and facilitate a fun environment. Sport Clips is a semi-absentee business so you will need to be engaged with your business and your team. By talking to our franchisees, you will gain a clear understanding of what it takes to ramp up your Sport Clips stores so you can determine how you want to live and do the things you love.
Sport Clips enjoys a 99.7% franchise continuity rate, an honor based on five years of real data. Haircutting is considered to be relatively resistant to economic conditions, can’t be outsourced, and when tough times cause consumers to pull back from eating out and discretionary personal services, haircuts continue.

To Create a Championship Haircut Experience for Men and Boys in an Exciting Sports Environment.
In the early ‘90s, Gordon Logan recognized the huge potential, and relative lack of competition, in the men and boys’ haircut market. He wanted to create a place where guys could take care of one of life’s necessities—a haircut—and say, “This is my kind of place, I feel comfortable here.” Assembling a group of passionate industry professionals, Gordon and his team worked together to develop the unique Sport Clips Haircuts concept we know today. We've been growing ever since!
What are the minimum requirements to open a Sport Clips store?
To ensure that you are able to obtain the financing that you will need to move forward, we require that you have a minimum of $200,000 liquid assets and $400,000 net worth. This requirement may be higher if construction costs are higher than normal in certain areas, or if a candidate wants to sign up for more than three licenses.
How much does it cost to open a store?
Currently, the cost of building out a single store, including the franchise fee and working capital, ranges between $189,300 and $354,500. A full breakdown of the cost is provided in Item 7 of our Franchise Disclosure Document. The bulk of that cost can usually be financed, but lenders will generally require a cash injection of 20-30%. Franchisees will need to meet lenders’ qualifications for financing.
How much money can I make?
Because we operate more than 50 company-owned stores, our Financial Performance Representation (Item 19) is very robust. We will work with you to ensure you understand how to use this important information to assist you in talking with our existing franchisees to get answers to the financial questions that are important to you.
